Dr. Meredith Stone has been named Logsdon’s associate dean for academics, Dr. Myles Werntz is the new director of the Master of Divinity program, and Mr. Thomas Estes is joining the faculty as a part-time professor.
Logsdon Seminary is pleased to announce two new faculty positions for the 2019-20 school year. Dr. Wally Goodman will be the new director of the Doctor of Ministry program, as of November 1. Dr. Jeff Johnson has become the new director of the Logsdon Seminary campus in San Antonio, effective August 15.
Logsdon Seminary has redesigned its Master of Divinity and Master of Art in Family Ministry programs, creating more streamlined degrees. On the undergraduate level, Logsdon School of Theology has created a new Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and a new Worship Ministry degree. The changes will take effect in the Fall semester.
Joseph Tobias has a heart for social justice and the church. As an MDiv student at Logsdon and a youth ministry intern at Broadview Baptist Church, he is involved with both.
Logsdon MDiv student, Mardochee Estinvil, published his first book, Relax: Jesus’ Peace In the Midst of It All. His book reminds readers that amid difficulties, people can experience peace in Jesus.
What began as a ride from the airport has turned into a lifelong friendship between these two Logsdon MDiv students. Last year, Joel Templeton ’21 volunteered with the Global Engagement office to pick up Zazanya Gaddam ’21 from the airport at midnight. After dropping him off at his new house, Templeton continued to invest in Gaddam’s life.
Bridgette Onion Langford ’16 was the first student to graduate from the Logsdon San Antonio campus. Today she ministers in her church praise team and college ministry and shares the hope of Christ in unique ways at her job.
Zach Dean is a lover of the Bible and theology. He can often be seen in the library with commentaries spread across a table or chatting with a friend about questions of predestination or doubt. But Dean knows how to put into practice the things he’s learned in class.
This year, Colloquium is taking a new spin and a new name. Logsdon Chapel Worship will emphasize contemplative prayer and worship and make undergraduate students a part of the services.
While Lynsi Johnson has learned much from her professors at Logsdon and HSU, she learns about life from the people she serves as a chaplain and the people she meets on the streets.
