Jeff Johnson

Jeff Johnson, D.Min.

Dr. Johnson became Director of the Logsdon Seminary Programs and Assistant Professor of Ministry in Dallas-Ft. Worth in the Fall of 2016.  In Fall of 2019 he moved to San Antonio to be Director of the Logsdon Seminary Programs and Assistant Professor of Ministry in San Antonio. He brings over 34 years of combined pastoral ministry and theological education experience having served as a pastoral leader in both Texas and Oklahoma. His pastorates include service in rural, metropolitan, bi-vocational and border churches.  As a bi-vocational pastor he worked as a Financial Analyst. He served two terms as President of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), one term as First Vice President of the BGCT and championed initiatives on bi-vocational ministry, cultural diversity, advocacy for children, social justice, and reconciliation.  He has taught adjunct at Baptist University of the Americas, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, The Dick Radar School of Christian Service at Oklahoma Baptist University, Northeastern Oklahoma State University and Connors State College.

Dr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas; Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has done additional studies in cross cultural pastoral ministry, early church ministry, and contemporary ministry in practice from Duke University Divinity School, The Center for Holy Land Studies in Jerusalem, and Yale’s Berkley Divinity School.  He has also done continuing education in Clinical Pastoral Care (CPE) and Church Renovation and Renewal.  He has been active in the National Christian Community Development Association.  He has written for multiple publications including preaching material for the Texas Baptist Mary Hill Davis Offering and Common Call magazine on “Great Questions of the Bible.”

Dr. Johnson enjoys running, yard work, growing fruit trees, and spending time with family.
